- Open Scholarship
The Library supports the practice of research, education and knowledge exchange to enable open collaboration and learning.
There is a Reading Room at basement level within the Library building. It provides extra study spaces, and offers extended opening hours: open week days and weekends from 07.00 to 02.30.
Entry to the Library Reading Room, during all hours of opening, is by an access control system. All NUIG student ID Cards are encoded automatically for access to this facility. This is to ensure that the space is retained for NUIG students only.
In the unlikely event of your card not working, please contact University Security on email@example.com and provide your name and ID Number.
Postgraduate Reading Room
There is a Postgraduate Reading Room on the first floor of the James Hardiman Library which aims to provide a quiet study environment specifically for postgraduate students. This room can accommodate 24 readers.
