Lost Books
Lost Books
If you lose a Library book, or if a book is stolen from you, please report it to staff at the Library & IT Service Desk on the ground floor of the Library.
You should be aware that when a book is issued to you, the book becomes your responsibility. Therefore, the Library does ask for the replacement cost to be paid for all lost or stolen books. We will accept a replacement copy of the same edition, if it is in good condition. Sometimes, it is possible to buy cheaper secondhand copies from one of the secondhand bookshops in Galway, eg Charlie Byrne’s or Kennys.
We aim to be helpful when books are reported missing. We will extend the loan to give you a chance to check with lost property offices, such as Bus Éireann.
